About this activity
After hotel pickup in Pattaya, travel by air-conditioned minivan for 1.5 hours to reach the pier where you'll board the ferry to Koh Samet. A scenic, 40-minute ferry ride takes you through the Gulf of Thailand to the island, located just 4 miles (7 km) off the mainland.
Beaches ring the jungle-clad island, part of Khao Laem Ya – Mu Ko Samet National Park, and you're lucky enough to spend the day at one of the prettiest, Ao Wong Deuan. Enjoy five hours at your leisure to swim, sunbathe and soak up the tropical scenery on the long, white-sand beach. Lounge on the sand, go for a dip in the calm ocean waters, or rent snorkeling or kayaking equipment from one of the local facilities (own expense).
Around midday, your guide provides a Thai lunch at a beachside restaurant that serves savory soups, curries, meat and vegetable dishes, rice and fresh fruit. Then continue to enjoy the beach, swimming or catching up on vacation reading until it's time to leave.
Throughout the day, all you have to do is relax as your guide takes care of the details, including transport by comfortable minivans limited to nine passengers each, ferry tickets, national park entrance fees and lunch. At the end of your beach day, return by ferry to the mainland where your minivan awaits to take you back to Pattaya.
