About this activity
Meet your local guide near Pisa Centrale railway station at 9:45am and set off through the southern side of the city toward the famous Leaning Tower on the northern side.

Along the way, discover and learn about the four main districts that divide up the city within its medieval perimeter walls. Stop to admire the mural by the late, 20th-century American artist Keith Haring. The largest Haring ever painted, this colorful jigsaw-like design of brightly painted figures was the only one he created that was intended to be permanent.

Stroll along the busy, pedestrianized Corso Italia to the River Arno and stop to soak in the views over the beautiful riverbanks. Delve into the districts of San Antonio and San Martino to view their highlights, and once past the river, head into the heart of Pisa.

Wander down the Borgo Stretto and explore the districts of San Francesco, once home to Galileo, and Santa Maria. Pause to take in the splendid Piazza dei Cavalieri, formerly the epicenter of the medieval maritime republic of Pisa, and stunningly redesigned at the end of the 16th century by Florentine architects.

As the finale to your tour, pay a visit to the magnificent and monumental complex of Pisa Cathedral and its bell tower — the Leaning Tower. View both of these stunning buildings from the outside and take photos before your tour concludes here at approximately 11:45am.

Before leaving, ask your guide for any useful information and directions you may need to continue exploring here or other parts of Pisa at your leisure.
