At beginning feel the calm atmosphere at famous korzo (Promenade street). Atmosphere of the town is enriched by academy students, actors, painters, musicians. All academies of arts in Montenegro are located here.
The town was founded by Ivan Crnojevic the Lord of Zeta and you will visit Church of Ćipur built at the foundations of Crnojević temple monastery from XIV century. Following the tradition of Crnojević dynasty, bishop Danilo Petrovic built a new monastery in 1701 at the place where the palace of Crnojević dynasty used to be. Today Cetinje Monastery keeps the hand of Saint John Baptist and the particle of holy cross. It also keeps relics of Sveti Petar Cetinjski, as well as Oktoih, the book printed in 1494.
Get knowledge of spiritual ruler, great thinker and poet Petar II Petrović Njegoš. Take a look at the first billiards in his former residence Biljarda which was brought from Kotor by Montenegrin youths on their shoulders. The most important works Petar II Petrović wrote, spiritual and secular ruler, a poet and a philosopher were given its birth here.
At the end visit King Nikola I Petrovic Palace – museum with the preserved palace ambiance. Museum disposes with several tens of thousands of objects distributed in archaeological, ethnographic and art collection, as well as collections of decorations, arms, plaques, seals, coats of arms, flags and photos. This palace is journey through Montenegrin state’s developments and its role in foreign relations of the country.
