Pompeii and Herculaneum from Amalfi, Positano, Praiano, Ravello, Maiori or Minori

Get picked up or meet the guide to board a deluxe motor coach and travel first to Pompeii (approximately a 2-hour tour). Visit the archaeological excavations of the Roman city buried by the Vesuvius eruption to discover the conditions of ancient life. That life was suddenly interrupted in the night between the 24th and 25th of August, 79 AD, when the eruption of Vesuvius buried this town under five meters of lapilli and ash.
Stop for lunch (own expense) before continuing to Herculaneum, another city buried by Vesuvius with Pompeii. Tour the archaeological excavations (approximately a 2-hour tour). While Pompeii was a busy commercial center, Herculaneum by contrast was a quaint, residential coastal town. Herculaneum is not to be missed if you want to discover another side of life during the Roman Empire.
Please note this tour is not suitable for people who are less mobile as it is a very long day walking into excavation sites. On the journey back to the Amalfi Coast, stop at the shop of a famous cameo maker in the area. Return is expected at 5pm. This tour is a great occasion to combine the two most famous archaeological sites in Campania.
