About this activity
Depart from Ponta Delgada towards Furnas valley. On the way, stop at Lagoa village to visit a traditional pottery place, and stop at Vila Franca do Campo, the former capital of the island, with its fine historical center.
Our first stop at Furnas is on the lake margins, followed by an included lunch. Taste the cozido na caldeira, cooked by the steam of the volcano. The cozido na caldeira is a traditional Portuguese stew with all the ingredients that characterize this typical dish.
After lunch visit Pico do Ferro belvedere for a panorama of the valley. Return to Ponta Delgada by the island's North road, visiting the Tea Plantations, the only place in Europe where you can see a tea factory and tea plantation.
