Great hands-on excursion for guests of all ages! Meet your English-speaking guide by your cruise ship and jump on board your air-conditioned transport. This educational, fun, chocolate-making shore excursion in Guatemala takes you to Antigua City, where along the way, your guide will tell you fascinating information on your surroundings as well as Guatemala's history and culture. Passing famous volcanoes and amazing scenery, be sure to have your camera ready for an experience full of photo opportunities. Bottled water is included. Arriving at the chocolate museum and workshop in Antigua City, your guide will not only educate on the origin of chocolate itself, but you will also learn how to make your own chocolates and chocolate drinks! This is a fun activity for guest young and older alike. The instructor will guide you through each step. You will prepare different flavors of hot chocolate (cacao tea, Mayan hot chocolate and a European style) as well as prepare, make and take away with you, your own handmade chocolates. Enjoy learning the skills of making these scrumptious treats. Entrance to the chocolate museum with 30 minutes free time is also included after you have slaved over the tasty chocolate treats. Complimentary lunch is included (a beef and chicken dish with all the sides, preparation style varies daily). On your return transfer to the cruise pier, the guide will take you on a scenic sightseeing excursion of Antigua City and a stop at the Jade Factory. The transportation will drop you back off at the pier.
