Take an enchanting hike through an oldgrowth forest harboring massive Sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis), western redcedar (Thuja plicata), and Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziessii) to a secluded little beach with a waterfall and filled with surfers in wet suits year-round. This is the legendary Smuggler's Cove, formed by Cape Falcon, where The Goonies pirates are rumored to have landed and buried their treasure.

Here we could stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory and taste some cheese and observe the process of mass-production cheese making, and/or visit the Tillamook Air Museum, which is housed inside a WWII-era blimp hangar that happens to be the largest clear-span wooden structure in the world.
