Altos de Chavon and Santo Domingo Tour by night from Punta Cana
1 day
About this activity
The tour will start picking you up directly from your hotel in Punta Cana around 1:30-2:00pm.
First stop will be the the architectural wonder of Altos de Chavon, located close to the town of La Romana. This unique place is a 16th century replica of a Mediterranean village perched high above the Chavón River. Dominican artisans handcrafted the stone pathways, decorative ironwork, furniture and enchanting buildings. Construction of the village began in 1976 and the village was inaugurated in 1982 with the concert of Frank Sinatra at the Roman-style amphitheater.
We will then continue our day direction to Santo Domingo where we'll arrive around 5:30-6:00 pm. We're gonna visit firstly the old part of the city, known as Zona Colonial or Colonial District. Customer must be aware that for the time we will arrive in Santo Domingo most of the monuments will be already closed, so we're gonna see them only from the outside. This tour is more a relaxing getaway than the classic cultural tour offered from Punta Cana with an early pick up in the morning.
After that, from 8:00 till 9:00 pm we'll go back to the bus to move direction the modern part of the city. Santo Domingo’s economic and commercial area is known as the "Poligono Central". We're gonna get around the most famous and trafficated streets of the Dominican capital like 27 de Febrero, John F. Kennedy, Winston Churchill and Maximo Gomez avenues.
Around 9:00 pm we're gonna go back to the Colonial Zone to have dinner in one of the most fashionable restaurants of the whole city, the renowned Jalao Restaurant, located in the central El Conde street.
It is a typical food restaurant unique in its kind, with a decoration and atmosphere in which it seeks to exalt the Dominican culture, thanks to a design based on typical elements. Dinner includes starter, main course and dessert. Rum "Barcelo" and coke will be served during all the excursion and customers will have also a complementary drink during dinner.
From 10 pm till 12am our customers will have the chance to enjoy a live orchestra playing local music and feel the real Dominican atmosphere in one of the most exclusive and central spots of Santo Domingo. Have a good time while listening to the distinctive rythms of Salsa, Bachata nad Merengue.
After midnight it's time to leave. We will go back to the bus and make our way to Punta Cana where we'll arrive around 3:00am.
