Stop At: Samana Bay, Dominican Republic

Every year, thousands of Humpback whales start their migration from the cold waters in the North Atlantic to the warm clear waters of the Caribbean. More than 1,500 of these whales visit Samaná Bay which produces a 300 Humpback Whales at any time during the Whale Season (January 20 to March 20). The World Wildlife Fund considers the Bay of Samana as one of the best places in the world for whale watching.

Leaving from the Punta Cana hotels, by bus, you'll enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Oriental Mountain Range north of Punta Cana before arriving in the small fishing village of Miches at the southern shores of Samaná Bay. Here, we'll board a boat and transverse the scenic Samana Bay.

Get your cameras ready! As we transverse the bay we pause to whale watch! Sightings are incredibly common and the whales spend a fair amount of time on the water surface! Enjoy the jumps and playfulness of these incredible creatures, making for unforgettable photographs.

Duration: 4 hours

Stop At: Cayo Levantado, La Barbacoa 32000 Dominican Republic

The excursion continues, by boat, to Cayo Levantado, also known as Bacardi Island because of it closely resembles the beaches Bacardi Rum once used in their famous commercials. Cayo Levantado is nothing short of a tropical oasis - a small island in the middle of the ocean with turquoise waters and white sands.

If you can do one excursion during your time in Punta Cana this should be it!
