Hekla Volcano and Landmannalaugar

We start the tour at 8:30 when our 4x4 Super Jeep picks you up. We´ll head east towards the volcano of Hekla on this unique and unforgettable tour through some of the most rugged terrain in the southern highlands of Iceland. Our first scheduled stop is at the root of the notorious volcano Hekla. In our jeep we climb as high as 1000 m (3280’) above sea level to enjoy fascinating views over the Fjallabak Nature Reserve and some of Iceland’s magnificent glaciers, although visibility is weather permitting. Now we are in one of the largest geothermal areas in Iceland where fire and ice shape the landscape. We continue to Landmannalaugar where we´ll take a short hike to enjoy the colorful landscape and a warm bath in a natural pool is optional before heading back to Reykjavík. This is a land of unreal beauty with an amazing range of colors, steaming hot springs, glacier ice and explosive craters. Once in Reykjavik we´ll drop you off at your accommodations after an amazing day out and about.
