About this activity
Your tour begins at 9:30am at your hotel or other accommodation in Reykjavik where your guide will pick you up. From there, drive under the Hvalfjordur Fjord to your first stop, the Settlement Centre in Borgarnes. Learn about the history of Icelandic settlement before continuing on to the Icelandic Museum of Agriculture followed by Ullarselið, an Icelandic wool shop.

Enjoy coastal views with mountains in the backdrop as you drive inland from the coast to the highlands.

Make stops at Deildartunguhver hot springs and Hraunfossar waterfalls before stopping in the small town of Husafell.

Located in the highlands region, Husafell is the staging post to the basecamp at the foot of Langjökul glacier. Take time to stretch your legs and enjoy the included lunch buffet.

When the group is finished with lunch, travel up the glacier. Hop aboard a rugged, 8-wheeled ice truck and cruise across the glacier to the ice cave. As an expert guide walks through the led-lighted walls inside the tunnels, listen carefully they explain the glacial exploration and research. See the multipurpose cave room that’s available for weddings, parties, meetings and events, before making your way out of the caves to the outside world.

Visit the Long Glacier, the second-largest glacier in Iceland and Thorisjokull, named after the ogre Thorir, before heading back to Reykjavik.
