About this activity
Day one

We will have opportunity to discover two of the most appealing waterfalls globally: Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. On a day with good weather, we are able to view the couple of glaciers nearby: Eyjafjallajökull and Myrdalsjokull.

As we proceed, the drive goes to Vik, the coastal village; here, we come to the black sand beach, Reynisfjara as well as the popular Reynisdrangar peaks. All through the whole drive, as a visitor we anticipate enjoying views of spellbinding landscapes that have huge fields of lava full of soft moss and mountain range nearby which are endless.

The countryside, which is some distance from the city lights, is ideal for viewing natural occurrence, so in our acommondation we will have chance to see northern lights.

 Day 2

Following breakfast, we will take extra time at Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon.

We also stroll beside the lagoon as well as on the shores featuring black sand, searching for seals that might be visible in the lagoon. One of this trip’s highlights awaits us. In Glacial lagoon is possible to boat with local provide.

Our aim is to have a personal interaction with the glacier. It comprises of fallen snow, rather than frozen water, as some may believe. However, in what way does it change to ice, in this case? This just happens through compression because of the snow’s weight, since it goes on piling. It is similar to getting a fistful of feathery snow then squeezing it into a tough snowball then continuously doing this for very many years.

In the end, the ice becomes so dense that most of the air is forced out of it. This is why glacial ice itself can have that amazing crystal blue color; the ice improves with age.

From here, we will head over to the ice caves, where a certified tour guide will be on ground to show you around. Ice caves form during winter when glacial rivers retract. Each year, a new set of ice caves are formed. A visit to the ice caves gives you the opportunity to enjoy the scenic view of the glacier ice.

From the ice caves, we will head over to Skaftafell Nature reserve, one of the most popular National Parks of Vatnajokull. The park is surrounded by Jagged Mountains with glacier peaks. Many times we make a stop for dinner then continue hunting and having fun with the northern lights until late. Normally, the Reykjavik drop off is at times between 21:00 and 01:00. This is determined by whether we are able to search for the northern lights or not and the length of time.
