Wonders of Snæfellsnes

Your day begins with your driver guide picking you up at your pre-selected pick-up loaction in Reykjavik. You then head towards the northern part of the Snæfellsnes peninsula in your comfortable 4x4 van. First stop of the day is one Iceland's many natural hot springs where you get a chance to dip your feet in for a little while. Then you set the course to Snæfellsnes National Park, through small and charming fishing villages, with a stop by the picturesque Kirkjufell mountain.
During your exploration of the national park, you get to stretch your legs a little with a hike up to Saxhóll crater (100m). You will also stop by at the pebble beach Djúpalónssandur where you can admire the dramatic rock formations, which is followed by with a decent into the 8000 year old lava tube cave Vatnshellir. An experienced caving guide will lead you through this unusual underground dome that was formed in a volcanic eruption of Snæfellsjökull glacier. Afterwards you'll be enjoying dinner at your cozy countryside hotel. If conditions are favorable you'll have a great view of the Northern Lights from there.
The next morning you will have plenty of time to enjoy the Southern part of the peninsula with visits to the fishing village Hellnar, a stop at the basaltic rock formations in Arnarstapi and a beautiful church in Búðir where you will also find one of Iceland's rare golden beaches. From there you will get great views of the mystical Snæfellsjökull, the subject of Jules Verne's science fiction classic Journey to the Centre of the Earth. 
Before heading back to Reykjavik you'll set the course to the Borgafjörður area where you can see the beautiful waterfalls of Hraunfossar and Europe's most powerful hot spring, Deildartunguhver.
