About this activity
The Santa Teresa neighbourhood is known for both its diversity and its authenticity. It’s a secluded, idyllic place where many artists choose to live and set up their studios, with a feel of one of Brazil’s rural cities. Our meeting place is Largo dos Guimarães, the heart of the neighborhood.
From there, we’ll set off on our walk, taking in the Parque das Ruinas, the Chácara do Céu museum (outside only), The Selarón Stairway, Lapa Arches, and Rua do Lavradio, before ending up in the Mangue Seco cachaça bar for a caipirinha class and cachaça tasting session. The class includes a caipirinha per person, one servings of cachaça and a Brazilian beans broth in the tasting session. The class is taken by a specialist cachaça bartender and translated by your host.
