Half Day Rio de Janeiro Sightseeing Tour

After a 9am pick-up from your Rio de Janeiro hotel, drive by air-conditioned coach to Paineiras, at the base of the Corcovado Mountain. From there, it's a scenic drive of around 20 minutes through the Tijuca Forest to reach the Christ the Redeemer statue at the top of Corcovado. 

At the summit, 2,308 feet (710 meters) above sea level, enjoy spectacular views of Rio and the surrounding countryside, as your guide points out sights of interest. Look out over Guanabara bay, Niterói, Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon, the botanical garden, the Jockey Club, and the Tijuca National Park from your high vantage point. Further north, spot Copacabana Beach, Botafogo, Flamengo, and the famous Sugar Loaf Mountain.

After returning to the city, continue with a visit the Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro; admire the grand facade of Maracanã Stadium; and see the Sambadrome, the work of architect Oscar Niemeyer and host to Rio de Janeiro's legendary Carnival celebrations. 

Your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel around 1pm.
