Tijuca Forest Full-Day Hike

8 to 9:00 - pick-up from the hotel (South Zone area of Rio only)(*1)
9 to 10:00 - drive to park and visit Cascatinha Taunay (Taunay Waterfall) (highest of the Tijuca Park, 35m=115ft)
10 to 10:30 - tour guide speech about the history of Rio, Brazil and the Tijuca Rainforest
10:30 to 12:30 - Hike to Tijuca Peak (elevation gain 521m=1709ft, peak height 1.021m=3349ft)
12:30 to 1:30pm - Rest, fun, pictures and lunch (*2) at the summit
1:30pm to 2pm - Hike to Tijuca Mirim (a lower peak, amazing view - 917m=3008ft)
2pm to 2:30pm - Rest, fun and pictures at the summit
2:30 to 4pm - Hike down by a different trail to the Cachoeira das Almas / Soul's Waterfall (refreshing and showering is possible(*3)
4pm to 4:30pm - Hike back to the starting point
4:30 to 5:30pm - drive back to the city/hotels drop-off(*4)
(*1) - starting time (precise pickup time will be informed on the day before the tour according to the pick-up point)
(*2) - Lunch/drinks/water are NOT included - please take ready-to-eat food and water (about 2 liters/person)
(*3) - the flow at the waterfall varies according to the intensity of rains 
(*4) - times here are approximately and total duration of the tour can vary according to the pace of the group and traffic. Please DO NOT schedule IMPORTANT appointments (flights, meetings, other tours) for right after the tour.
