About this activity
From the uppermost levels of the Flavian Amphitheatre, one can see deep down into the Colosseum Underground, and, turning away from the arena, temples in the ancient Roman Forum and the green slopes of the Palatine Hill where Rome was founded. You will enter the forum with your guide after the Colosseum tour and Terrace of the Caesars tour which walks around the the entire top level circumference. Photos taken from here are always incredible, it's a tremendous opportunity to catch pix of the Colosseum and take selfies with really no one else in the background!

This is really two tours for the price of one, in that your guide will lead you through the main body of the Colosseum before heading up to the top of the structure, where a second tour will commence with an expert archaeologist guide. At the end of your tours, stay in the Roman Forum if you wish to walk around some more through the ruins and remains of Republican and Imperial Rome. The legendary Palatine Hill archaeological area can also be accessed from here, where you can see the rarely populous Stadium of Domitian, Domus Flavia, Domus Augustana, and the Temple of Apollo amongst 16th century aviaries and ornamental gardens, Mithraic shrines and temples.
