Intricate carvings depict scenes of victories from the emperor’s campaigns. The statue of Marcus Aurelius on the top of the column has been replaced by one of St. Paul. The Pantheon is the next leg. Be amazed by this great column portico entrance and by its immense dome. It is the first pagan temple to be transformed into a church, and therefore it was saved from being destroyed over the ages.
