Shore excursion: the Imperial Rome

The legend of Rome was born in the hills, with a she-wolf and twins, but it is among the walls of the Colosseum that it's story became eternal. Discover the most magical city in the world with Musement.

After one hour of travel from the port of Civitavecchia we arrive at the Colle Oppio, a short walk from the Colosseum. Look up as you head to the best known amphitheater in the world, and admire it's magnificence and splendor.

Between a photo with a fake gladiator and one with a centurion we face the Arch of Constantine.

From here we'll continue with a walk through the columns and gardens of the Roman Fora, the center of one of the largest and most powerful empires in history.

We then arrive at the Campidoglio, where we can admire the statue of Costantine, before continuing on to visit another of the symbols of Rome, St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. Center of all Catholicism and seat of the papacy, you will find that this is not only the largest basilica in the world, but certainly also one of the most wonderful works of art ever made.
