Tour of the Colosseum at Sunrise

Meet your guide just after sunrise on the hill overlooking the Colosseum. Get your day started with a nice espresso and cornetto as you chat with your guide. Only when your breakfast is over your tour of the Icon of Rome will begin.
Aside from being a born and bred Roman, your guide is also extremely savvy when it comes to finding unique spots and angles to take the perfect pictures. You'll capture the Colosseum at first light and the stunning overlook of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and all of Ancient and Imperial Rome before the masses of people, cars and oppressive heat make it almost unbearable.

With the use of 3D virtual reality headsets, you'll get a glimpse of what the archaeological area actually used to look like in its glory days you'll get to travel back and forth between past and present. The VR devices allow you to literally turn back in time to stare down into the Colosseum underground and see the caged beasts that were kept there before battle and the 32-meter tall bronze statue of Emperor Nero that originally stood next to the Colosseum. Your guide will tell you stories both from between legend and history while teaching you all about the making of a Gladiator and what these bloody games meant to the Romans.

Your guide will then collect the headsets and walk you around the perimeter of the Colosseum for additional photo opportunities before accompanying you to the line in time for the first entry. You'll enter the Colosseum on your own and explore the various levels and views for as long as you like.
