About this activity
St. Petersburg, the capital of the Russian Empire, is the city where the world-famous Russian Ballet was born. Peter Tchaikovsky and Marius Petipa - 'the fathers of the Russian Ballet' - created their world's greatest masterpieces here including 'Swan Lake', 'Nutcracker' and 'Sleeping Beauty.'

You will visit one of the top ballet stages - the famous Alexandrinsky Imperial Theatre. In 2007 this historical 18th century building was restored and now looks like it did in 1756, when it was built. Alexandrinsky Theatre was the main Ballet and Opera stage of the Russian Empire before the world-famous Mariinsky (Kirov) theatre. Alexandrinsky Ballet utilizes soloists from the Mariinsky and the stage sets are truly magnificent.

The Alexandrinsky Theatre is located at the very center of St. Petersburg, right on the Nevsky Prospect (the main street of St. Petersburg), within 5-15 minutes walking distance from the most of the centrally located hotels. Also you can arrive and depart easily by metro (subway) - station 'Nevsky Prospect/Gostiniy Dvor' is 350 m (4 minutes) away - or by taxi.

Before the performance, meet the charming hostess to get the tickets and get to know the meeting point for the backstage tour. Than enjoy the performance of one of the best Russian Ballets - 'Swan Lake,' 'Nutcracker' or 'Sleeping Beauty.' These ballets are called 'Tchaikovsky's golden triade' and are iconic examples of the Russian Ballet. See one of the top Russian Ballet companies from a parterre (stalls) seat with the best view of the stage.

During the intermission, you will have a special backstage tour of the Theatre, a unique experience typically inaccessible to the general public!

After the performance, take a photo with the ballet dancers. And the main event of the evening; an exclusive private talk with a Prima Ballerina who danced during the performance!
