About this activity
Meet the guide in the hotel lobby and head south to visit the summer residences in the vicinity of St Petersburg. You will see the residential areas on your way there and listen to the guide telling the history of the city and its modern life. Arrive in the Tsars's Village (Traskoye Selo in Russian), you will visit Catherine's Palace decorated in abundant baroque style. Its halls will surprise you with the number of gilded moldings. The pearl of the palace is the Amber Room, which mysteriously disappeared after being robbed during the World War Second. You will see the amazing work of Russian restorers who created the Room from the beginning using 6 tonnes of natural amber.

Take a break for lunch and taste traditional Russian meal, before going to the city of Pavlovsk. Just a short ride away, the family residence of Emperor Paul I is located. You will walk in Pavlovsk park, the biggest landscape park in Europe and visit the Palace. This elegant 18th-century estate is full of authentic family belongings, sculpture and paintings. The Palace of Pavlovsk is one of a few palaces in St Petersburg's vicinity that has been fully restored after the WW II, so you will enjoy not only the gala halls but also the private rooms.
Finished with the excursion, you will return back to St Petersburg full of fantastic memories.
