Stop At: Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, Pfeiffer Big Sur Rd, Big Sur, CA 93920

Coast Starlight train going along the East Bay industrial town that give way to marshland and bird sanctuaries. Ride continues through Silicon Valley and agricultural area near Morgan Hill. You cross San Andreas Fault Line and cross over to Elkhorn Slough at Moss Beach. Soon you are in Castroville area riding through miles of artichoke and strawberry fields to Salinas. *(If you wish a private car can drive you from San Francisco to Salinas.) At 11:45 our driver picks you up and you go across to Monterey about 30 minutes away. Driving south of Carmel you reach Big Sur and Bixby Bridge area by lunch time. You can wander in the Redwoods, have lunch at The River Inn or at Nepenthe or ask the driver to take you to any special place you want to see. By about 4:00 you come up to Monterey.
