San Jose Pura Vida Experience

Costa Rica is the home to some of the most interesting history, delicious coffee and amazing food. On this tour, you'll get to see the real Costa Rica, right in the middle of the capital city of San Jose. We'll start the day off meeting in the beloved Espana central park, considered as one of the gems of this bustling city. After soaking in the nature for a few moments we'll walk through the San Jose streets to the National Museum. This site in itself is worth visiting San Jose for, and you will leave here with a better idea of Costa Rica's history and get to see real historical artifacts. You and your group will then have a chance to experience local transportation by taking the public bus system to the downtown Central Market. Tourists and locals love this market because there are so many interesting things to see. Wander around and you'll see local artisan's work and food vendors, sample some exotic fruits, pick up a souvenir and grab a cup of fresh Costa Rican coffee. Have you ever seen a traditional Costa Rican mask? Next, we'll visit a local mask maker who is considered to be a master of his trade. He'll talk about his art and share some tips and techniques with us about how he does what he does. To finish the day off you'll indulge in a delicious traditional Costa Rican meal at a one hundred year old adobe restaurant. This will probably be your best meal yet! This is a great way to spend a day in San Jose, especially with locals who know the city and it's safe areas very well.
