Plazelas & Peralta Archaeological Sites

1 day
About this activity
The archaeological sites of the state of Guanajuato are known to be settlements of what the experts call "the Cultures of El Bajío region". Both the architecture and the ceramic remains found on these sites are proof of a regional peculiarity different from other cultures in Mesoamerica, although sharing main characteristics with these societies. During your visit to the Peralta (Abasolo) and Plazuelas (Pénjamo) archaeological sites with our specialized archaeologist and anthropologists guides, you will enjoy learning the Prehispanic history of the region. The trip also includes visiting the traditional tequila factory Tequilera Real de Pénjamo with a tasting of its products. You will learn the artisanal tequila-making process, from the Agave plantations to the aging rooms where the 'reposados' and 'añejos' rest to perfection and visit the workshops where the fine ceramic bottles are hand-made and decorated.
