Candelaria Life and Trekking offers you a fantastic opportunity to enjoy an incredible circular hiking route of four to five hours (with the transfer from the office), through the Special Natural Reserve Chinyero Volcano, where the last eruption took place in Tenerife, you will walk among lava flows, near the cone between the nine mouths it had, as well as the spots and pine forests.

The Special Natural Reserve of Chinyero Volcano is a natural place that has an area of 2379.4 hectares around the Chinyero Volcano. The Reserve covers part of the municipalities of Santiago del Teide, El Tanque and Garachico.

The Chinyero Volcano is a monogenic volcano of 1,561 meters of altitude located near the Teide and is currently inactive, although eruptions have been recorded since 1393. The last one was on November 18, 1909, and it ceased nine days later, being the last volcanic eruption that has taken place in Tenerife.

The pick-up point for this tour is the Candelaria Life and Trekking office at approximately 08:30. From there, you will be taken to the starting point of the volcanic route. You will start the tour from Mirador de Chio and continue through the malpais (lava field) and pine forests.

In the 8.21km of this route of low-difficulty, a height of 1540m is reached, while the lowest is at 1402m.
