Itinerary
We will pick you up at your hotel in Santa Marta at 6:00 am to take you on a 2-hour drive to PNN Tayrona trail entrance where we will check-in. Next, we will start the hike uphill getting deeper into the jungle. Our hike will be sheltered by the shadow of enormous old trees and beautified by the singing birds while we move closer to Pueblito and the ruins of a complex civilization.
After a 3 hour hike, we will arrive at Pueblito and will have the time to wander among the housing and terraces of the old Tayrona people. Furthermore, you'll find Kogui families living in the place and farming ancestral sacred plants and their legumes. Noticing the indigenous architecture you'll discover how complex and fitted it was with this ecosystem and how advanced were these populations on hydric resource handling.
We will continue with the hike going downhill and making our way out of the jungle to Cabo San Juan. There you can stay to enjoy the beach and an amazing view of the mountains and the sea. This majestic place will surely charm you with its unique beauty. During your stay, you can enjoy a delicious typical dish before walking for less than an hour to the meeting place to return to Santa Marta.
