About this activity

Depart from your hotel in Santiago where you will begin the journey visiting Piedras Australes handicraft shop where you will be able to enjoy a Pisco Sour drink while appreciating beautiful pieces of lapis lazuli, after this visit you will go straight into the Maipo Valley with its beautiful countryside landscapes; mixing sun, wind and winter rain, creating the perfect Mediterranean climate conditions that make of this a valley specialist in the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The salts carried in the Maipo River waters, irrigate the fields, forming a unique equilibrium between flavour and acidity in its wines.

Here you will find the Undurraga Vineyard, founded in 1885 by Francisco Ramón Undurraga who planted French and German vine stocks. The vineyard is proud to have been in the same family for five generations. Home to a great park with ancient trees of over 150 years and a mansion that received illustrious visitors during its time, visit the Aliwen corner where you can learn about Mapuches, the native people. Undurraga produces more than 15 million litres of wine per year in its 140 hectares, being one of the oldest and most important wineries in Chile.

Tour the winery and wine cellar, to learn about the winemaking process and taste some of its final products. Concluding the visit, you will be returned to your hotel in Santiago.
