About this activity
Meet your guide in the morning in Sarajevo, then hop into your minibus and head through the city to begin your tour. Ripped apart by the violent Siege of Sarajevo between 1992 and 1995, Sarajevo still bears the scars of the deadly rivalries that shattered the peace here.

First, head up to a high hillside for panoramic city views, and listen as your guide sheds light on the Siege of Sarajevo. Visit cemeteries where residents who stood against the violence lie buried, and find out what life was like here when food, water, electricity and gas were scarce.

During your tour, discover key landmarks including City Hall, the National Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency Building, Skenderija market, and Zetra Olympic Hall — many of which were heavily shelled during the siege.

Head through Sniper Alley and along tunnelling once used by the fighting factions, and visit the Tunnel Museum — where the story of the bloody conflict is brought to life. Here, watch a movie about the war in Sarajevo and learn of the role UN forces played in the Siege of Sarajevo.

On route back to the town, listen as your guide explains how the war ended and hear how the region’s borders were re-settled. Then, return to your original departure point in Sarajevo to conclude your tour.
