Throughout of this extremely complete visit to the old Jewish Quarter of Seville, we will discover in depth the history of many of the families who lived here, of the foundation of the quarter, the creation of the Great Synagogues and everything that occurred in connection with the hebrew community of Seville. We will visit the interest places that once be part of jewish's daily lives and we will know with the greatest historical rigor, the tragic destiny of what a day was the more prosperous and numerous Jewish community of Andalusia. (It includes the visit to the Center of Interpretation)

Departing from de Interpretation Centre of the Jewish Quarter, in the heart of the old Jewish Quarter of the city, that is the first space from Seville with objective to recover and to spread the Sephardic legacy of the city and Spain. Indeed, although the history of the Spanish Jews extends during almost 1700 years, it will have been necessary to wait the end of the 20th century in Spain to see the first initiatives appear, aiming at developing this important portion of the history, forgotten and altered during centuries.

During the visit, you will discover what was vastest and the most prosperous Jewish Quarter of Andalusia at the Middle Ages (4 to 5 thousand Jews) and second most important of the Kingdom of Castile, and what's more, which was the precursor of a series of dramatic events that will mark the tragic destiny of the judeo-Spanish community . 

Still today, certain tangible traces continue, even intangible. Discover the outstanding personalities of the Jewish community of Seville and we will tell you the myths and legends, like that of beautiful Susona, which continue to feed our imaginary and immerse us again in its tumultuous past. Moreover, we will bring you back, not only to the periods of size of Al-Andalus and the Reconquest, but also to the obscure times accompanied by the rise of fanaticism, conversions and persecutions among the Sephardim. Since the great massacre of 1391 until the final expulsion of Spain in 1492, through the creation of the Inquisition and of its Court, the status of pure blood, the first autodafe (act of faith) and the development of the crypto-Judaism. Finally, we will remember those who had to leave, preserving intact, generation after generation the essence of the homeland that miss to them, through the traditions, the language and even keys of the doors which were a day, the ones of their homes in Sefarad and that today are the symbol of their own identity.
