About this activity
Nostalgia revived when you opt for this relaxing cruise aboard a traditional Chinese schooner for a day trip across Phang Nga Bay. This part of southern Thailand, approximately 70 kilometers from your beach resort, is automatically associated with one of James Bond’s classic ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’, where most of the tropical scenes were filmed in the 70-ies. But not only that single craggy limestone mountain makes Phang Nga just that attractive – there are hundreds of these dotted along the coast line and inside Phang Nga Bay, each more stunning than the other. While this will turn this cruise into an enchanting one, the area is known to house some secluded beaches and fishing villages, calling this place of scenic magnificence their home. Sailing aboard this well-maintained boat only upgrades the experience to new levels.

You will be picked up from your hotel early in the morning and transferred to the June Bahtra, moored at the Yacht Haven Marina pier, at the northern side of Phuket. From that moment on, it is pure enjoyment as bizarre nature and beautiful mangrove jungles, surrounded by many strangely shaped limestone rocks pass by while you lounge on the deck with red-colored sails above you, providing some shade. During the day, a visit the Khan Ping Kan, also and sometimes better known as James Bond Island where “The Man with the Golden Gun” was filmed, ensures that this main tourism magnet is not skipped as you lay back on comfortable deck cushions.

Ample time is set aside for take a refreshing dip in the clear waters, admiring the fabulous archipelago along the east coast of Phuket from the ocean surface. During the day, a change of vessel is needed to bring guests over, on long-tailed speed boats, to the sea gypsy village of Koh Panyi. This location is notable for being built on stilts at the end of the 18th century by nomadic fisherman. The tour also takes in a mangrove delta and the Grotto Cave. Sumptuous Thai food will be served buffet-style as we cruise further along this amazing seascape. In the late afternoon, we regretfully have to leave Phang Nga Bay and enjoy the final serene and calm moments at one of the world’s most stunning destinations.
