Rila Monastery is the most exquisite example of monastery art and architecture in Bulgaria. You will be able to visit the monastery church, the old kitchen, walk in the yard, take photo of the Hrelyo Tower, etc. During your free time you will be able to visit the church museum with the wood-carved cross of monk Rafel or taste the famous local mekitsi (kind of a donut) and the traditional yogurt.

Plovdiv (European capital of culture 2019) is one of the oldest towns in Europe. It was inhabited by the Thracians, Romans, Slavs and Ottomans, whose traces have turned the town into a museum. Places of special interest to see are the old town with plenty revival houses and churches, Roman stadium, Roman Theatre, old mosque, main street.
