About this activity
We will meet up at the Southern gate of the Diocletian’s Palace.

Our 2-hour walking tour will include all of the town's attractions: Riva - the famous City promenade, entirely preserved 1700-year old Diocletian's palace underground chambers, the breathtaking Roman Peristyle square, Emperor's lounge - Vestibul, the Palace gates, fascinating Statue of Gregory of Nin, medieval Jewish ghetto, medieval square Pjaca with its City Hall and Vocni square with its amazing architecture and the Venetian fort.

You will hear the story of the life of Diocletian – of one of the most successful Roman emperors, but also of the worst Christian persecutor ever. St. Doimus was one of the martyrs from that period, nowadays he is the patron of Split.

You will learn how the palace of Diocletian was turned into medieval Christian town and...yes...why we have the oldest cathedral building in the world(!!)
