Sitting right in the middle of the meeting of the three great waterways: Marramarra, Berowra, and Hawkesbury, Bar Island has always been a special place for the inhabitants of the river. A meeting place for the indigenous nations has left a substantial midden, and the European settlers have left the ruins of an old church and a cemetery.

Stop At: Muogamarra Nature Reserve, Old Pacific Highway, Sydney, New South Wales Australia

Hike to top of the ridge behind Milsons Passage - we can either take a quick route up the trail, (~ 30 minutes), or the long route through the bush (90 minutes). The views at the top are astonishing.

Stop At: Popran National Park, Ironbark Road, Mangrove Mountain, New South Wales 2250 Australia

On the Northern side of the River, there are very few ways to get into Popran National Park, which makes it very well preserved. We can take you for a cool dip in a secret pool, or clamber to the base of a hidden waterfall behind a giant shipwreck.

Cruise up the valley for a delicious lunch at a waterfront restaurant, or we can provide wraps to have at our own deserted beach, or anywhere on our adventure

Once a war ship, then a cargo boat, explore the mysterious shipwreck up close and personal, and learn the story of how it came to be washed up on the river

The tour takes place on the mighty Hawkesbury River. Cruise beneath its towering sandstone cliffs, explore the bush, and sport some wildlife like sea eagles and cormorants.
