Taste of Australia in Parramatta Including Sydney Harbour River Cruise

6h30
About this activity
This Taste of Australia journey starts at Sydney's Circular Quay at 8.30am as you breakfast with the locals then cruise west following the journey of the colonial settlers. You will sail through the harbour past many glorious landmarks and historic sights, some that are little known outside of Australia, as well as have an insider view into the backyards of modern life in Sydney.

You will also be provided with an OPAL card for the trip which can be used on public transport for the rest of your Sydney stay, and escorted to the train for the return journey back to Sydney leaving Parramatta around 2.30-3pm.

Parramatta - The Food Tour
You will walk on the lands of the Darug people, where we explore the food basin that is Parramatta, sharing stories from centuries, Indigenous, colonial and modern.

Parramatta was the first food bowl for the colony, and provided the arable land needed for the settlers to survive. It is home to many historic sites including Australia's oldest remaining farm. This tour is a taster of the stories and the food that makes our nation.

Our first stop includes sampling delectable hand made chocolates from one of Sydneys favourite artisan producers. You will then share the great Australian passion for coffee, followed by 'million dollar' pho, a great Aussie favourite, freshly made sushi hand rolls and artisan baked goods. The final treat is in the picturesque Parramatta Regional Park , in view of the historic first Governors Cottage delicious Middle Eastern inspired cake and tea.

On the journey we will explore Parramatta's colonial and modern day cultural history. As the diverse city and centre of Western Sydney, it's full of historic and natural landmarks which tell centuries of stories. You will see the remains of convict cottages and see Australia's first pub, opened by the first Chinese Australian. The tour will conclude in view of old Government House (home of the first 10 Governors) in the beautiful Parramatta regional park. The city is Australia's best kept secret, rich with history, remains and historic buildings

This tour is treat for tourists wanting to get off the beaten track to see something different and get a taste of our hidden history and favourite food. It is ideal for those who love food, and those who love history and stories, and its bliss for this who love both!

Make sure you bring comfortable footwear, a bottle of water and most importantly, a sense of fun!
