Lake McLaren Evening Glowworm Kayaking Adventure

Start your small-group kayaking tour by meeting at McLaren Falls in the evening and follow your guide to the launch site on Lake McLaren. You are fitted into a single or double kayak, depending on the option selected at booking. Get acquainted with your kayak and natural surroundings while you paddle around the tranquil lake. When evening falls and dusk changes to night, you'll move up the lake and into a river system. As the sky becomes completely dark you will be led into a hidden location where glowworms appear. This special spot offers some of the best glowworm viewing in New Zealand. The evening finishes up with a paddle back down the lake in pitch black — the views of the starry night sky render most kayakers speechless.
