It’s also believed that the word “wine” is of Georgian origin (“ღვინო” - “ghvino” in Georgian). All over Georgia, archaeologists have found ancient wine presses and clay vessels, proving that viticulture has been practiced here at least since the 5th-4th millennia BC.

Our excursion in Kakheti region starts at 10:00 am at you hotel.

Firstly we visit to Bodbe – a convent in a very beautiful nature with the view of river Alazany valley. Bodbe is one of the most important pilgrim place, because there is a tomb of Saint Nino, who converted Georgia in Christianity.

After Bodbe our rout continues to Signagi, (a city of love) is a nice touristic town with amazing view of river Alazani Valley and Caucasian mountains. Here the wedding house is always open. So that, you can make your love relationship official at any time.Signagi is Turkish word meaning “a shelter”. It was built in 18th century by a famous king of Kakheti Erekle II to defend surrounding villages from North Caucasian Muslim peoples.Nowadays there is no danger of attacking any invaders. It was newly restored and renovated just for you pleasure.

Later we will go the house-museum in Tsinandali of local nobleman Alexandre Chavchavadze that is one of Georgian’s most important cultural sites in. As a museum and cultural center, it can offer an extraordinary experience for the general public, tourists and researchers. No better place to tell the story of the powerful family that left a lasting mark on Georgia’s history, to expose visitors to traditional as well as contemporary Georgian arts and values.Here we will find out that in Georgia, in XIX century, European oriented culture was not something strange even in the regional place. Afamous poet and diplomat Alexander Griboedov was son in low of Alexandre Cavchavadze. His famous comedy in verse “Woe from Wit” Griboedov wrote in Tsinandali. He and his beautiful wife Nino Chavchavadze, who widowed in 17 after several months of their marriage and never married again, are buried in Tbilisi, at the entrance of Mtatsminda Pantheon.

It is not only house-museum but it is a Tsinandali complex that composes also winery, where we can have tasting of wine.Here you can taste delicious wine and also buy not only different kinds of wine (price doesn't include wine tasting). In the evening we will drive back to Tbilisi and our day tour will finish at your hotel.
