Day 1 - Tirana – Koman Lake – Valbona
We will leave Tirana at 5:00 am to drive toward the Koman Lake when the ferry departs at 9:00 am to the other side of the lake, Fierza. From the 1985 this manmade lake is the only way how locals who lives in the surroundings get in touch with modern world.
Driving from Fierza to Valbona will needs around 45 minutes, passing through Bajram Curri, the municipally of the area. Lunch break in Valbona and hiking in Kukaj, a very remote area in Valbona Valley surroundings when we will see how the people do their living.
Day 2 – Valbona – Theth
Called also as the Big Day of the tour the second day is where we will hike from Valbona to Theth following the ancient path that locals had used in years, where back in the days to travel from Valbona to Shkoder was possible only by walking and 2 full days were needed !
Walking in this path we will pass through the oldest part of the village when people are still leaving in their more than 100 year’s old stone towers. It offers a spectacular view of the long rocky valley mixed with quite, relaxing forest and some traditional cafes for lunch break.
Theth will amaze us with its unique nature, history and tradition. Its symbol, the “Lock in Tower” is a live proof of the past and history.
Day 3 - Theth – “Blue Eye”
Situated around 10 km from the center of Theth, this natural water pool is the main destination of the third day. With a deep of 5 m and icy waters (5°C) the Blue Eye is formed by the erosion of rock by the water that descends from the mountains. Picnic lunch at the Blue Eye and return at the guesthouse by the afternoon.
Day 4 – Theth – Shkoder – Tirana
After the breakfast at the Guesthouse, the Gurnas Waterfall is the next attraction. Around 45 minutes walk from the center of village the round to their pass through most of the village into a soft hilly terrain.
Living Theth behind and driving for around 3 hours we will reach Shkoder, the biggest city of the Albanian North. Free time in Shkoder and return in Tirana in the evening.
