About this activity
Itinerary

Try making a Daruma doll, a traditional Japanese craft right at the historical temple of Nishiarai-daishi. Experience this Daruma doll making activity right at a park in Nishiarai-daishi temple. The Daruma doll has a distinctive round body and is one of the most beloved traditional folk crafts. Generally, you will give the left eye to Daruma and make a wish. After the wish came true, you will give him the right eye. Daruma is usually red, but the shop has Daruma dolls rich in color according to the wishes contained in color.

Design and create your Daruma, only one in the world. Choose the color of your Daruma from more than 7 choices. Paint the Daruma with colored markers or decorate it with various materials such as ribbons and felt parts. Make your Daruma extra cute! The attractive round eyes are chosen from three colors; black, blue or brown. Using a white marker, you can arrange the eyes to your taste. There are many accessories such as cushion, cap, and bag to decorate your Daruma. You can have your favorite Japanese letter(s) written on its body with a brush either in Japanese or your native language. Your Daruma will become a lucky charm as the name "HappyDaruma" implies.
