Pick up at 07.30 am at your hotel by our guide Start with a visit to Gunung Kawi Temple, at Tampak Siring village situated on the Pakerisan river. It is an archaeological complex carved out of the living rock and dating back to 11th century. Walk down 300+ steps to reach the temple passing by lush jungle and rice terraces.

Stop At: Batur Caldera Sunrise Trek, Jl. Sedaa, Songan A, Kintamani, Kabupaten Bangli, Bali 80652, Indonesia

Continue north and drive uphill to the tip of Mt. Batur’s Caldera (1 717 m). Passing the beautiful scenery, downhill into the caldera region to get closer to the vast crater lake with the view of deserted black rocks of petrified lava.

Next, the journey back will take you through a different road passing bamboo forest, fruits and spices garden until reaching Petulu Village, The Kokokan, or white heron birds have become an integral part of life for the villagers. The birds have made their habitat in the village and every morning at dawn or late in the afternoon they make a spectacular sight as the birds either set out or return in droves circling the trees.
