About this activity

Only one hour away from Venice, is the region home to the famous prosecco, with its idyllic surroundings and hills covered with vineyards, blessed with the unique conditions that makes the wine produced here so special.

We start with a visit to a local producer in the Valdobbiadene region, where we take a tour of the vineyards and wine cellar. We get an insight into how the wine is produced and what it takes for these grapes to become the excellent product we will be sampling throughout our journey.

Here the harvest still happens by hand and it’s remarkable to see how the tradition continues, generation after generation and how the perfect combination of soil, climate, knowledge, hard work and passion contribute in equal measure to create a product that can’t be found anywhere else in the world.

We’ll hear all about it directly from the owner of an award winning family run business, before having the chance to sample two of their superb wines.

Our tour continues in a stunning Villa from the XVII Century, a beautiful example of Palladian style and headquarter to another award winning prosecco brand, renowned worldwide. Here we enjoy surroundings of unsurpassable beauty, where history and architecture meet tradition. We take a guided tour inside the subterranean cellars, where the prosecco is still stored today and we learn about the history of this remarkable underground corridors, which were even used as secret tunnels by soldiers during the First World War.

We marvel at the beauty and elegance of the Villa and its gardens, while we visit the same rooms which saw eminent personalities such as Napoleon and Canova among their guests, a clear sign of the wealth and power of its owner a few centuries ago.

And while we listen to the fascinating stories about this time from our guide, what better setting than this to enjoy a refreshing glass of prosecco!

Our toast sets the mood for the three course meal in a charming open air local restaurant, overlooking the stunning hills of Valdobbiadene, where we can continue sampling the local prosecco, this time paired with delicious local dishes for a perfect end to our comprehensive prosecco experience.
