Discover Verona by Bike

1 day
About this activity
Enjoy these two bike tours in Valpolicella wine region and in the city centre of Verona
The first experience starts meeting your guide in central Verona in the morning. Then get outfitted with your e-Bike and helmet, and pedal out of the city and into the Valpolicella countryside and hills, one of the most famous wine-producing areas in Italy, ranking just after Chianti in Tuscany. Enjoy the fresh air as you wind your way along a creek and through the vineyard-covered slopes above Verona on a mostly flat route. Hop off your bike at a local winery and learn about Valpolicella winemaking heritage. Then, sit around the table and sip a selection of prized local wines, including light, fragrant valpolicellas typically made using corvina, rondinella and molinara grapes. Contrast Valpolicella light character with the intense flavors of the most famous Amarone wine, made from partially dried corvina grapes. After your tastings, hop on your bike and cruise back to central Verona, for a total biking distance of 12.5 miles (20 km).
Then, meet our tour leader and the rest of the small group at Veronality InfoPoint in the city centre of Verona. Collect your bike from here and start the easy 3-hour ride through the city.
Discover Verona's main squares and the ancient Monuments, cycling between the lanes and along old city walls. Hear interesting stories and useful information from our knowledgeable and passionate local guide. After a short break for a nice cappuccino or some fresh water (not included in the price) you will visit the roman arched bridge of Ponte Pietra, two ancient roman theatres and some other roman ruins. You will relive the love story of Romeo &Juliet with a quick stop inside the Capuleti House yard to admire the famous balcony of Juliet. Lastly, pedal up to Castel Vecchio to end your tour and to take some amazing photos on the city. Before leaving our tour guide will give you some tips about where to get lunch or dinner, and you will receive a city map to walk around on your own.
