About this activity
This tour will give you an overall impression of the most significant historical sights of Vienna. Along the Ringstrasse, we will show you numerous grand buildings such as the MAK, the State Opera House, the magnificent Museum of Fine Arts with its world famous art treasures of the Habsburgs, the Natural History Museum, the cultural district the Museums Quartier, the Hofburg (the former Habsburg winter residence), the Parliament, the City Hall and the Burg theater.

The highlight of this tour will be a visit of the showrooms of Schonbrunn Palace, once the summer residence of the Hapsburg family and home of Maria Theresia. On the way back to the opera, we pass by the Belvedere Palace, the former summer residence of Prince Eugen, which houses the largest and the most precious Gustav Klimt collection in the world.

The tour is followed by free time in the city center to shop for souvenirs or sample some of Vienna’s famous pastries.

OPTIONAL

You have the choice of a Passau walking tour or an optional excursion to Salzburg. In Passau, you will walk the cobblestone streets of the Old Town past the old city fortifications and St. Stephan’s Cathedral, home to the largest pipe organ in the world.

If you choose the optional Salzburg excursion, you will have a walking tour of the historic center, famous as the setting for the “Sound of Music” and as the birthplace of Mozart. Enjoy some free time on your own

Then we head on to Budapest the magical city which is famously known as the "spa capital of Europe". A city full of surprises and wonder, with its lively center, pretty parks, majestic river, tall church spires and lavish spas and thermal baths.

Enjoy a complete overview of history, Buda Castle, Inner Pest, City Park and all the major sights in between in an entertaining and interactive walk divulging Budapest's best kept secrets.

We would start at the top with the magnificent Buda Castle and Castle District. Cross the river for the most grandiose building on the Pest embankment, the House of Parliament. For sacred wonders, we will visit the tallest building in the city, Saint Stephen's Basilica, and one of the largest synagogues in the world, the Dohány Street Synagogue. Heroes' Square will give you a peek into the romantic past of the country, and in Memento Park you'll have a chance to enjoy a modern history lesson open-air.

We would take a walk along the Danube promenade or head to the leafy Margaret Island. A walk along a street that's part of the World Heritage in its entirety? Andrássy Avenue is one opportunity. Lined with shady streets, bike routes and amazingly beautiful buildings, it is the best way to experience the atmosphere of the late 19th century together with the booming, modern face of the city.
