Terracotta Army and Lishan Mountain by Bike Private Tour

About this activity
You’ll set out in a vintage jeep for the famed Terracotta Warriors just outside of Xi’an to see the imposing UNESCO World Heritage site for yourself. Constructed for the first emperor of China to serve him in the afterlife, the life-sized army is estimated to be 8,000 strong. So far, around 2,000 figures have been excavated, of which no two are alike. They stand in three pits of varying sizes, the largest being nearly the size of three football fields. It’s an awe-inspiring sight to say the least.
Next, you’ll discover a truly local way of living with a trip to see some yaodong, cave dwellings found in the Loess Plateau, where the soil is sticky and porous, making it ideal for digging. The unique dwellings, usually built into a hillside, are still inhabited by many people today.
Hungry after all that sightseeing? You’ll have lunch in the countryside at a local farmer’s house where you’ll get an inside look into daily life and customs in the area, and get a better sense of the more relaxed pace of life outside the city.
Hopping back in the jeep, it’s time for a drive to the top of Lishan Mountain, where you can get a bird’s eye view of the Terracotta Warriors below, and we’ll spend some time at Renzu temple, a place where locals have come to pray for their ancestors for more than 13,000 years. Then, you’ll get on your mountain bike and cycle from the top of Lishan Mountain to the foot along beautiful mountain roads, passing epic scenery as you make your way down on two wheels.
This tour is priced for a minimum group size of three travellers. A solo traveller or group smaller than three may still book this private experience but will be charged the base rate for three travellers.
