About this activity
  • The air-conditioned car and guide from Nice Style Travel & Tours will pick you up at your hotel at 8:00am.
  • The local stationed guides are regional guide license holders awarded from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.
  • Drive to Bago(drive about 1 ½ hours), an ancient capital of Mon Kingdom of 13th to 16th centuries, about 40 miles (65km) north of Yangon.
  • Before entering Bago, visit Kyaikpun Pagoda, four Buddha Images sitting in back-to-back position.
  • In Bago, visit Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha Image and Myathalyaung Reclining Buddha Image.
  • Then, visit Kanbawzathadi palace of King Bayintnaung is just south of Shwemawdaw. The palace site covers more than 9500 acres. It was destroyed many years ago and a replica was constructed in its place.
  • Next will be lunch at one of the local restaurants around 12:00pm.
  • Continue to visit Shwemawdaw Pagoda 376 ft high, one of the most famous sites in Bago. At the northeastern corner of the pagoda, a huge section of the hti toppeled by the 1917 earthquake has been mounted into the structure of the stupa.
  • Then, continue to visit Hintha Gon Pagoda which has good views over Bago town from the roofed platform on the hilltop. This Myanmar stupa was built by U Khanti, the Burmese hermit monk who was also the architect of Myanmar Mandalay Hill.
  • Drive back to Yangon and before entering Yangon (only if time permits), visit Htauk Kyant War Memorial Cemetery, which is for Allied soldiers from the British Commonwealth who died in battle in Burma during the Second World War.
  • The tour will finish 6:00PM and the car will transfer back to your hotel in Yangon.
