Allow your adventurous side out on this hike up Mount Merapi, an active stratovolcano. Your experience will begin with a pickup from your hotel. Depart for Mount Merapi at approximately 7:30pm.
Your trek will begin on the northern path, from the village of Selo, as the other paths are damaged due to eruptions in 2006 and 2011. You will hike up the Volcano through the night to reach the top by sunrise.
This hike can be quite challenging. Though it’s difficult, it is very rewarding! You will complete it with a great sense of accomplishment as well as a great view to soak in. You will not be alone. An experienced guide will escort you through the hike.
Always check the conditions of the Volcano before embarking on the hike for safety reasons. There is no water along the way so be sure to bring plenty!
